ITs just wet today.....

Well Not much happened today.  Met with the builder and framer to discuss the next steps, but the weather slowed us down.  Hope to have the guys out tomorrow to pick up all the brick.  When we pulled the walls down we found that the exterior grade was about a foot higher then the foundation, which explains the water we have gotten over the years.  So we will be moving some dirt, and framing a house in very short fashion.

We hope to see a fully framed house sometime by the end of next week.

Also, had a couple people say they have tried to post on the blog..... I made some changes this afternoon, and you should not be able to post at any time.

Tanks for checking in, and I will continue to keep you posted.

The walls come tumbling down........

And is exactly what they did......  before 11:am.... they had every all int he house down.  Its almost disturbing how fast a house can come down.

Stoned.......

What were you thinking when you read the title......

So were looking for some input.... we got these Stone samples yesturday from Paul the builder.  Don't know that were sold on these 2 options, but we figured we would toss it out everyone and get some feed back fromt he masses.

This will be placed on the front of the house in the form of a half wall, and will cover the entire front of the future living room which is currently the garage.

And then there was a new plan........

Well today would be considered one of the stressful days in the rebuilding process.  We had a meeting with the builder, framer, and 84 lumber rep, and it was determined that we would have a much better finished product if we just tear it the rest of the way down.  Yea.... tear it all the way down.  That's not in the budget....  Here nor there...... its coming down, starting tomorrow.

Stopped by to take a couple more photos this afternoon......

my fireplace!

Welcome, Have a seat..... can I get you a drink!

Now that the house is running around topples....

We got everything off the top of the house, and today were expection 60MPH winds, and 2 inches of rain.  I guess the insid e of the place did need a bit of a bath, but 60 MPH winds, that could be enough to blow over the Port-o-pot in the front driveway.

Meeting today with the Builder, Framer, and Window Guy!  Big question of the day, does the huge chimeny go away since we wont use it any more, or do we just build around it.

I'm sure I will be posting more photos today as well.

Day 2..... The walls come down!

So I showed up at 7:30 this morning and got to have to me time to myself at the place.  I was a bit taken back by what I saw.  There was stuff..... Every where!  They had filled the dumpster, and when they ran out of room, they just made piles where they needed them.  I was shocked by the progress that they made in one day.

THis is what I found this morning when I get to the house.......

look my garage has a sky light!

They got almost all of it down in one day.

THis is what I found this afternoon.... Every internal wall in the house..... GONE.  The Demo plan didn't call for that, but evedently there was more damage then anyone expected.

There is the one wall that is left...... IT will be gone soon enough, but there expecting 2 inches of rain tonight and winds up to 50mph, so my gut is telling me that they left it there in hopes to make it the wall get thru the night.  WOW.... its gone.... everything is gone.

this was once my garage and the boys play room...... soon to be my kitchen and living room.

Day 1, Deconstruction

Feb. 24 2011

Day one......its finally here!  I showed up to find the framers already at the house at 7:30am.  Guys climbed right up on the roof and started ripping the roof off.  They certainly don't waste time with small talk!

Take notice to these walls........ they are here today!
